Renewal by Andersen Celebrates National Volunteer Week with Renewal Week of Service in Virginia

At Renewal by Andersen, giving back is more than a moment—it’s a mindset. Each year, we proudly celebrate National Volunteer Week through our company‑wide Renewal Week of Service, a dedicated time to support the communities we call home and spotlight the organizations that make a meaningful difference year‑round.

Across Central Virginia and Roanoke, our teams stepped beyond windows and doors to serve families, students, and homeowners through hands‑on volunteer projects that reflect our commitment to our community.

What Is Renewal Week of Service?

Renewal Week of Service is Renewal by Andersen’s annual volunteer initiative held during National Volunteer Week. Teams across the country partner with local nonprofits to donate time, talent, and resources to causes that matter most in their communities. From housing and health to education and neighborhood revitalization, Renewal Week of Service is about creating lasting impact—together.

Supporting Families with ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation in Central Virginia

At Renewal by Andersen of Central Virginia, our Design Consultants kicked off Renewal Week of Service by partnering with ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation, a Richmond‑based nonprofit serving families of children facing serious illnesses.

Together, our team packed 200 welcome kits for families navigating a life‑changing diagnosis. These kits provide comfort, resources, and reassurance during incredibly challenging times—helping families feel supported from the very beginning of their journey.

We were honored to support a local organization like ASK, which serves Central Virginia families every week of the year. This project was a powerful reminder that small acts of service can bring hope when it’s needed most.

Fostering Childhood Literacy

Our team members volunteered at Frances W. McClenney Elementary School, helping students select books from their school book fair that they could take home at no cost. For many students, this experience sparked excitement for summer reading and helped build a foundation for lifelong learning. This was part of our ongoing partnership with If You Give a Child a Book.

By investing in literacy, we’re investing in brighter futures—one book at a time.

Building Homes and Hope with Habitat for Humanity in Roanoke

At Renewal by Andersen of Roanoke, giving back meant going beyond our everyday work of improving homes. During Renewal Week of Service, our team partnered with Habitat for Humanity of the Roanoke Valley to help build a new home for a local family.

Our volunteers rolled up their sleeves to support safe, affordable housing in the Roanoke community. It was a hands‑on opportunity to contribute to a project that will make a lasting difference for a family for years to come.

Our partnership with Habitat for Humanity reflects our belief that everyone deserves a comfortable, secure place to call home.

Closing Out the Week with a Major Renewal Cares Project in Richmond, VA

We wrapped up Renewal Week of Service with our largest Renewal Cares project to date, partnering with Rebuilding Together Richmond for National Rebuilding Day

Our teams came together to transform the home of local couple James and Nikka, focusing on both beauty and safety. Volunteers revitalized the home’s outdoor space, while our professional installers replaced all sixteen windows in the home—at no cost to the homeowners.

This project embodied everything Renewal Week of Service is about: teamwork, generosity, and using our expertise to make a real difference in someone’s life.
